Malaysian Teen Obsessed over DSLR

DSLR? Digital Single-lens Reflect. In Malaysia , majority of the teenagers here , obsessed with DSLR camera. They are obsessed by even the thought of owning and using the DSLR camera.
Well , its not that it is bad, but......

1. I 've asked my friend who's desperately asking her parents to buy her a DSLR camera. She told me that the reason she wanted to buy a DSLR camera is that , when she grows up, she wanted to become a photographer. Photographing as an occupation?

Photographing. We often use this services in an occasions or events. Do we need them in our daily routines? No, for me. Unless you guys are somekind of Vogue Model or the new Malaysian Next Top Model that'll be walking down the runway every single day. So, if you last name weren't Kardashian or Jenner, It'll be more than enough for your daily photo being taken by just a normal smartphone.

Photographing as a hobby.
This one I might consider it okay. And instead of just hobby, if you've become a good one, you might make it as you second paycheck, a backup from your professional/main occupation. Taking photos for wedding or events. That could help a lot in today's poorly balanced economy.

Me, myself own a DSLR Camera, Canon EOS 500D and my dad's Canon EOS 70D.
We often brought the camera when we travel and my dad was a former photographer and videographer for most of our family's wedding. Never a bussiness. The reason he got a high-end DSLR camera model, was because he use it for his current job, whereas he go site visiting, and other stuffs engineer's do.
